Digital devices are already an integral part of German primary schools. But how does it feel to control a computer with your eyes instead of your hands? How do your eyes move when you read? How well can AI help you read when you don't understand something? We show you how new technologies can support you and your teachers in learning and teaching.
In bioinformatics, we research how computers can help solve mysteries from the world of living organisms - for example, how genes work or why people get sick. On Mouse Day, you can take a close look at the most complex molecules of life: DNA and proteins.
We also study neural networks and their components: data, neurons, layers, and the connections between them. We playfully discover what properties a neural network needs to function well.
Finally, we show you how artificial intelligence helps to combat the climate crisis: we take you on a search for new materials for solar cells and batteries. You can try out how a spectroscope breaks light down into all colors and how computers can predict experimental results.
Of course, in addition to the real tour, you can also take a virtual tour of our premises and check whether the AI is doing everything right.
