Event, Top |

On March 28, NFDI4Ing will be offering an online workshop for users of HPC computing centers and everyone who is interested in research data management.

NFDI4Ing brings together the engineering communities and fosters the management of engineering research data. The goal of the consortium is to represent engineers from all disciplines. It offers a unique method-oriented and user-centred approach in order to make engineering research data FAIR. The NFDI4Ing (online) workshop for Research Data Management in High Performance Computing & Measurement is taking place on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 in the afternoon – free and open to all.

When?               Tuesday, March 28, 2023, ca. 13-17 pm (tbd)

Where?              Online via Zoom

Who?                 Users of HPC computing centers producing large amount of (immobile) data; personnel in research data management and everyone who is interested  (no mandatory requirements).

PS: The participation might be recognized as qualification for doctoral candidates at your graduate center.

What?

  • Hardware systems, storage systems, data transfer tools at the different HPC centers (e.g. SuperMUC-NG, Hawk, JUWELS & JURECA), backup and archiving, UFT, GridFTP, Globus Online, data containers (e.g. LRZ DSS)
  • Research data management tools and services for data from HPC: Metadata standards, metadata crawling, interfaces, repositories, containerization, FAIR HPC data, B2SHARE, InHPC-DE etc.
  • Basics in research data management: FAIR data principles, metadata & terminology, repositories, identifier (DOI), licenses, best-practice
