MDSI Best Paper Award
The MDSI Best Paper Award is awarded annualy to outstanding papers published from MDSI researchers. To broaden the scope of participating papers, we have introduced an annual focus with four different categories. For 2024, our annual focus includes the following categories:
A. Societal Impact (e.g. health, security, environment, etc.)
B. Foundational Impact (i.e. new principles in Data Science/AI/ML which challenge existing ways of thinking, disruptive approaches)
C. Applications (breaking discoveries in applied fields, including logistics, physics, aerospace, chemistry, drug discovery, material science, etc.)
D. Core Member Cooperation (joint papers with at least two MDSI Core Members ideally from different departments)
In each category, the winning paper published in 2024 will be awarded 500€. The award ceremony will be held during our MDSI General Assembly in 2025.
Requirements for submission
- Papers eligible for submission must have been published in 2024 by one or more MDSI Core Members and/or their TUM-associated researchers (PhD students or postdocs). Former TUM employees who contributed as first authors (affiliated with TUM on the paper) to the paper are also eligible.
