This interactive workshop, part of the MDSI TUM doctoral training program, introduces vibe coding —a creative approach to generating simple software using AI and large language models (LLMs). In today’s AI era, your ideas are the only limit. Independent of which science fields you are working in, this session will show you how to turn concepts into functional tools without needing deep programming skills.

Why It Matters:

Vibe coding has been widely used in different domains including science and engineering area such as proteomics analysis in computational biology, simulation environments in biomedical, marketing analytics in business management. By leveraging AI-assisted programming, researchers can accelerate workflows, explore new hypotheses, and build custom solutions for their projects.

Prerequisite for the target audience:

No or little programming background
Want to build some simple software to support your research and have some ideas
Working on science including natural science or social science (not computer science)
Access to ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude/Replit

Learning outcome:

• Understand the workflow of AI-assisted programming
• Hands-on experience to build a software by yourself
• Know the basics of reliable software
