The collaboration was initiated by a research project between the Diehl Metering subgroup and MDSI core member Prof. Stephan Minner, Chair of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the TUM School of Management. The project aims to optimize the production processes of electronic components and water metering at Diehl Metering through innovative data-driven approaches.

The project was officially launched on November 22, 2024, with a joint project kick-off meeting including a production tour at the Diehl Metering site in Nuremberg. The meeting took place in a pleasant atmosphere and offered the participants an excellent opportunity to make contacts, sharpen their common understanding of the project requirements and concretize project goals and content.
