Modul Entrepreneurship
For doctoral researchers in data science, entrepreneurial knowledge is a valuable addition to their academic qualifications. It opens up the opportunity to translate research findings into practical applications, drive innovation, and realize potential collaborations with industry or their own start-ups. Entrepreneurship training promotes important skills such as strategic thinking, communication, and leadership - and thus broadens career prospects beyond science. By participating in such courses, doctoral researchers can position themselves as future shapers of research and innovation.
The one-day training course “Entrepreneurial Mindset for Data Scientists” is aimed at doctoral researchers in the field of data science who want to discover entrepreneurial thinking as a key competence for their professional future. The aim is to provide insights into the special skills of entrepreneurial individuals - both in the context of employment and with regard to possible start-ups. Using practical examples and interactive exercises, participants reflect on their own strengths and develop them further in a targeted manner. The focus is on active doing, collaborative work, and inspiring impulses that make the training lively and sustainable.
In addition to training, practical experience such as industry internships or working on start-up projects provide the best possible preparation for a career in business or as a founder. Therefore, such experiences are also included as optional elements in the MDSI training program.
In order to complete the Entrepreneurship module of the MDSI Doctoral Training Program, attendance of the one-day course “Entrepreneurial Mindset for Data Scientists” is mandatory. It is offered once a year. Optionally, other activities such as industry internships or other industry / entrepreneurship projects can be recognized.
