The TUM GNI Guest Program is intended to give internationally recognized guest professors and guest researchers who are active in the field of AI for the built world the opportunity to come to TUM. The goal is to strengthen collaboration, work together on research topics, publications, or projects, and advise doctoral candidates. There will be two calls per year.
The duration of the visit is at least 3 days and no more than two weeks, excluding travel.
TUM GNI Guest Scientists must provide the following services during their stay:
Hold an academic lecture and discussion in the field of “artificial intelligence for the built world,” open to all members of TUM. The exact title and abstract of the lecture will be provided no later than the start of the visit. The hosting Chair is responsible for organizing the talk.
Discuss with doctoral candidates and postdocs at TUM GNI about their research topics.
Discuss with the Director of TUM GNI and, if applicable, other members of the TUM GNI boards (Board of Trustees, Scientific Advisory Board) regarding issues related to the development of TUM GNI and potential collaborations.
TUM GNI Guest Scientists will receive an appropriate, industry-standard compensation for providing the services outlined above, following the TUM Guidelines for Guest Researchers from Germany and abroad at TUM.
The following costs will be covered by TUM GNI in line with the Bavarian Travel Expense Act (Bayerische Reisekostengesetz):
Travel expenses to and from TUM GNI (Economy Class for any flights),
Costs for accommodation (including breakfast) up to 120€/night,
any visa fees.
No further costs (e.g., rental cars, meal allowance, hospitality expenses, and costs for accompanying persons and family members) will be covered. Expenses will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 5.000€. The TUM GNI Guest Scientist must submit their expenses to TUM GNI, along with original receipts and the TUM Reimbursement document, within six months of completing the trip.
