3rd Call for applications to the TUM GNI Postdoc Program

The Georg Nemetschek Institute Artificial Intelligence for the Built World at the Technical University of Munich (TUM GNI) is a flagship center for academic research, teaching and knowledge transfer to society on artificial intelligence, machine learning, data-centered engineering and related data and knowledge-based technologies, with special dedication to applications in architecture, engineering, construction, operation & management of the built world (AECOM). The built world (also denoted as the built environment), which implies the complete life cycle of buildings and built infrastructure, is thus the focus of the Institute.

The Nemetschek Innovation Foundation supports the Institute, and TUM embeds it in its large network of data-centered sciences. The Institute develops and promotes a new generation of technologies with strategic importance for digital sciences in general and AECOM industries in particular. It contributes to the solution of grand societal challenges including the environment, climate, information & communications, mobility & infrastructure. Taking advantage of big data, extracting information by data analytics, creating insight from machine learning and explicitly representing knowledge, AI for the Built World will be a key technology for designing, planning, constructing, operating and managing systems of buildings and built infrastructure.

As part of its Postdoc Program, TUM GNI offers international/national high-potential researchers the opportunity to establish their own research with a focus on core scientific questions on interactive artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning within the interdisciplinary research area of TUM GNI (AECOM domain with mathematics/informatics-oriented research). The TUM GNI Postdoc Program is dedicated to scientists with significant experience who obtained their PhD within the last 5 years. The postdoctoral researcher will be employed at TUM full-time and the salary and benefits are commensurate with the pay scale of public service organizations (TV-L E14). The position is limited to 24 months (an extension for another 12 months is possible) and includes a yearly project budget of €5,000.
