Mentors and Co-mentors
State of the art knowledge and enthusiasm are essential for the success of the TUM-DI-LAB. As a Mentor you are invited to propose project themes in your area of research expertise or your interests related to data science. You will then develop a brief and intensive research activity, supported by a selected team of four master’s students with interdisciplinary background for the realization of the project.
TUM Professors, Postdocs, and Doctoral Students are invited and encouraged to offer their expertise as Mentors for the TUM-DI-LAB.
You will meet your students once per week during the semester to monitor their progress.
Deadline for project proposals:
- October 15 for projects of next summer semester
- April 30 for projects of next winter semester
Co-mentoring: Many of our industry partners welcome researchers from TUM, other universities and research institutions as co-mentors for their projects. As a co-mentor, you advise TUM-DI-LAB students working on a particular project that matches your interest along with the industry mentor. Co-mentors profit from the exchange of ideas with industry experts in the field, are in touch with current challenges faced by the industry, and profit from the TUM-DI-LAB network of experts and partners.
