Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Borrmann

Prof. Borrmann is acting as Interim Director of the Georg-Nemetschek-Institute.

He is Full Professor at TUM and heading the Chair for Computational Modeling and Simulation at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, he is the speaker of the Leonhard-Obermeyer-Center – the TUM Center of Digital Methods for the Built Environment. His research interests lie on the application of digital methods in all areas of construction, ranging from automating the design process of buildings, over monitoring and steering construction works using sensors and robots, to the optimized operation of facilities by means of simulating pedestrian dynamics. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and is member of the editorial board of Advanced Engineering Informatics.
