MDSI Kickstarter support provides a kickoff to collaboration between two PIs by promoting their first joint projects, which are currently in an installment / starting phase. This format comes with co-funding for (up to) two doctoral or postdoctoral researchers for twelve months.

MDSI Focus Topics represent key areas that MDSI would like to highlight. They consist of a dynamically set up group of five or more senior TUM scientists who intend to collaborate on a specific research topic in data science. MDSI Focus Topics are supplied with 180,000€ that can be used for both personnel as well as consumables.
